What to Know!
Submission requirements:
A short story of up to 4,000 words centered on the theme (all genres welcome except erotica and hardcore horror).
Must be formatted as a Word doc, Times New Roman 12 pt font, double spaced with your name and story title as the heading on each page.
To accommodate the wide audience for this book (which includes minors) all submissions must be PG-13 with no on-page sex.
Contributors must be RHS members in good standing during the application through publication period.
Important Dates:
Submission Deadline: MAY 14TH, 2024
If your story is accepted, you will be notified no later than MAY 21ST
ROUND ONE EDITS - DEVELOPMENTAL —editing team returns edits to you by JUNE 30TH
Individual edited stories due back to us by JULY 8TH
ROUND TWO EDITS - LINE —TWS team returns edits by AUGUST 12TH
Individual line edited stories due back to us by AUGUST 19TH .
PROOFREADS completed by SEPTEMBER 16TH
Initial book format done by OCTOBER 21ST
INDIVIDUAL read through of each author’s story (by the author) as final PROOFING (LAST CHANCE FOR ANY CHANGES)
Author confirmation and green light before publication due back by OCTOBER 28TH
Publication date: NOVEMBER 18TH
Non-refundable Submission fee: $40 (used for publication & marketing. Any extra will be donated to Reading is Fundamental)
