Welcome to JUNIPER.

An online comprehensive event empowering you to build your writing portfolio, branch out into additional genres (including film and ghost writing!), and connect with influencers, top authors in their fields, and publisher options. This conference is perfect for every writer ready to develop an evergreen career and get paid for their work.

Our goal: Educate, empower, and encourage you for a multi-genre publishing career.

And because we know attending conferences can often be difficult due to price or accessibility, we are making it available online and as affordable as possible.

There are three levels of Attendee Packages:

  • Wordsmith: Admission to Saturday’s full day conference, including workshops by a list of top notch guest speakers on getting published in picture books, thrillers, YA, middle grade, non-fiction, and romance, plus how to break into screenwriting!
  • Scribe: Admission to the Saturday conference PLUS admission to the Friday night kick-off keynote event (get ready for a fantastic keynote, giveaways, and games)!
  • Storyteller: Admission to the Saturday conference, Friday night’s kick-off event, AND Sunday’s afterglow with a publisher spotlight on a series of fabulous small presses actively looking for more writers, a panel on social media marketing with some top influencers, and a workshop on how to break into ghost writing!
  • PLUS those registered for the Storyteller admission get the option to register for a 20 minute mentorship appointment that will cover your career goals, specific marketing or branding questions, and writing advice. LIMIT 20 APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE. Appointments will be scheduled during the week following the event.

HOST & SPEAKER: Mary Weber is the bestselling HarperCollins author of six books, including the Storm Siren Trilogy and the highly-acclaimed To Best the Boys. Along with speaking and teaching, Mary’s written for Huffington Post, Hallmark, and Writer’s Digest, and she runs Cherry Pie Author Services, a business helping authors achieve greater success. When not writing, Mary sings 80’s hairband songs to her three muggle children and husband. HOST & SPEAKER: C.J. Redwine is a New York Times bestselling author, a public speaker, and a teacher with twelve years experience in teaching all areas of creative writing, publishing, and marketing. She’s especially passionate about helping writers level up their skills and their careers. She’s a diehard fan of going to the movies, keeps a 6 foot tall Loki figure in her office, and will debate the merits of Batman vs. Superman with anyone she meets. She once punched herself in the face on a ride at Disneyland. She doesn’t recommend it.

KEYNOTE CONVERSATION: Danielle Paige is the New York Times bestselling author of the Dorothy Must Die series, Stealing Snow series, Mera: Tidebreaker, and The Ravens co-written with Kass Morgan. In addition to writing young adult books, she works in the television industry, where she’s received a Writers Guild of America Award and was nominated for several Daytime Emmys. FILM AGENT: Alice Lawson has been with The Gersh Agency for nine years in the media rights department, representing TV and film rights on behalf of authors, journalists, publishing agents, publishing houses, and public figures. After spending almost eight years in the New York office she relocated to Los Angeles. Prior to Gersh, Alice worked for NY-based independent producer Tim Perell (SHORTBUS; LAST CHANCE HARVEY, etc) and Laura Rosenthal Casting (Emmy-winning casting director for MILDRED PIERCE among others). GHOSTWRITING SPEAKER: Alice Sullivan has worked in the publishing industry since 2001 as a ghostwriter, author, writing coach, speaker, and managing editor. She’s written over 50 books and edited over 1,300 titles, eleven of which are New York Times bestsellers. A member of the Rotary Club of Nashville and The Porch Writers’ Collective, she specializes in memoir, prescriptive self-help, and personal growth & development because she loves transformative stories and practical advice. Alice’s favorite projects are those that challenge her point of view, offer a unique perspective, and expand her knowledge. Clients include Jen Hatmaker, Donald Miller, Michael Hyatt, Mastin Kipp, Danette May, Shaquille O’Neal, Manny Pacquiao, George Foreman III, Lee Greenwood, Thomas Steinbeck, and Tony Jeary.

ROMANCE SPEAKER: Kim Law began publishing emotional, small town romances in 2012 and quickly amassed a loyal readership. She’s published twenty-one books in ten years, been the president of her local RWA chapter, and has traveled the country giving workshops and signing books. A native of Kentucky, Kim lives with The Mister and their dogs, Biscuit and Jelly, in Middle Tennessee. You can find Kim at her website

CHILDREN’S BOOK SPEAKER: Teresa Robeson ( is the APALA Picture Book Award-winning author of QUEEN OF PHYSICS (also ILA Nonfiction PB Honor and NCTE Orbis Pictus Nonfiction Recommended Book). Other publications include TWO BICYCLES IN BEIJING and an essay in NONFICTION WRITERS DIG DEEP, edited by Melissa Stewart. Her upcoming works include two biographical graphic novels with Penguin Workshop and two picture books, the nonfiction CLOUDS IN SPACE: THE NEBULA STORY with MIT Kids/Candlewick and CLEAR AND BRIGHT with Astra Young Readers.

SOCIAL MEDIA PANELIST: With over 270,000 TikTok followers & 91.6K on IG, Cait is a computer science and math major who just wants to be a librarian. They love talking about books and the publishing industry on their blog, Instagram, and TikTok. She was a part of the first group of TikTok creators who started “booktok”, and now spends way too much time on the app. Cait also created the online book club known as the Bookington Book Club. SOCIAL MEDIA PANELIST: With 204,000 TikTok followers & 23.6K on IG, Rachel A. Dawson is a creative, a content creator, a bookworm, and a believer from Richmond, VA. She works full time in church communications (a role she loves) and she also loves creating content about books and reading to share with friends and followers online. She’s always exploring different creative endeavors, from collaging Sunday newspapers every week to arranging flowers or painting journals. SATURDAY NIGHT PANELIST: Erin Calabio Summerill is the author of the YA award-winning, Clash of Kingdoms trilogy: Ever the Hunted, Ever the Brave, and Once A King. She is also the author of Clickologie, a conversational guide to mastering photography. Both Erin’s novels and her portraiture work in fine art photography have been published internationally. Erin was born in England to parents who both served in the U.S. Air Force. Shortly after, her family’s Hawaiian heritage drew them back to the islands where Erin and her four siblings called central Oahu home. When Erin isn’t writing, she can be found reading, photographing favorite books, or teaching teens about finding themselves in fiction. Erin holds a BA in English Education from Brigham Young University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She currently teaches English and Reading to ninth-grade students, while working on a second master’s degree in Education: Curriculum and Instruction.

SATURDAY NIGHT PANELIST: Critically-acclaimed young adult author Kristen Simmons has worked with survivors of abuse and trauma as a mental health therapist, taught Jazzercise in five states, and is forever in search of the next best cupcake. Currently she lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband and son, and a small pack of semi-wild dogs.
